The DPT Family COVID-19 Follow-up

Check In

Hard to believe it has been a month since our email detailing our Coronavirus Plan at DPT.   We wanted to take this time to check in with everyone and extend our gratitude and thanks to each and every one of you for being part of our DPT family.  Whether you are one of the handful of families still attending therapy under stringent COVID-19 guidelines in our office, participating in weekly telehealth therapy sessions with your child and therapist, following your home program, or awaiting your first appointment with Darling Pediatric Therapies; we thank you.   We all know these weeks have been full of adjustments and changes for all of us.   We are impressed by your dedication to your children and we will continue to be with you every step of the way.

DPT Remains Open

DPT continues to remain open, as we are deemed “essential healthcare caregivers by the Department of Homeland Security”.  We have significantly reduced our hours to ensure the highest level of safety.   We are seeing the vast majority of our families by telehealth.  We have worked hard with insurance companies to fight for benefits to allow your children to continue to get the services they deserve.   We have had some great discussions with local Senators, Congressmen and the Insurance Commissioner.  As you know, we will always be an advocate for your children.   For our new families recently referred to us, we have scheduled you and have not forgotten about you.  All schedules will resume when we are all fully back at the DPT clinic.

Where to Find Us

We are posting photos of the great work being done by the DPT family.  I invite you all to Find Us on Facebook @ Darling Pediatric Therapies, Inc. or Instagram @ darling.therapies.  We are also posting informative blogs on our website, www.darlingpediatrictherapies.com , regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our children.  We are accepting new patients and are scheduling for when we are back in the DPT clinic.   Telehealth is for established patients, as ethically we are committed to providing the best care possible.  Telehealth requires a working knowledge of your child’s sensitive therapy needs that we will develop in the clinic setting.   However, we are happy to talk with a family and start the scheduling process.

Sense of Normalcy

We, like most all of you, are anxious to get back to a sense of normalcy.   We are looking forward to seeing each and every one of you back at the DPT clinic, when the time is right.  Your child’s safety and well being continues to be our first priority.  During this Covid-19 crisis everyone is doing their part to help others.  If we can help another family in need of OT, PT or Speech for their child, please let us know.  We thank you for continuing to entrust your child’s care to Darling Pediatric Therapies.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me personally at any time, for any reason.

Sincerely,

Darlene A Robertson, OTR/L, C/NDT
