Telehealth Sensory Breaks

Telehealth Sensory Breaks

Sensory breaks are not just for kids and not just for telehealth.   They are also know as movement breaks or a brain break.  They can increase ones the ability to calm down, focus, learn and self-regulate.  Many families are finding themselves facilitating their child’s school work or therapy sessions during these Stay in Place days.   With everyone staying in place, many children and their parents, need a break.   Even during our PT, OT and Speech telehealth therapy sessions at DPT we find the need to encourage sensory breaks.  Many of our children need them as do their parents.  For many of us, we feel sensory deprived.

The picture attached detail nine sensory alerting and organizing choices one can offer.
