CHANGES AT DPT SINCE COVID-19

SAFETY IN THERAPY

There have been some changes at Darling Pediatric Therapies since Covid-19.   We have made those changes to keep your children safe.  One of the changes we made back in March,  was to remove our crash pads from our main gym and our train depot.   The covering was frequently laundered, but could not be cleaned and dried between each use on the hour.  We were all sad to see them go, as they provide great sensory motor input for sensory regulation, hard work and a variety of other therapy techniques.  We love to use them in obstacle courses, as a tool for organizing and making the body feel good.   I am thrilled to announce that the Morrison family generously donated the funds to have us get the vinyl boat grade material.  This material will allow us to sanitize the crash pads between each use. Cynthia Lang, our OT and skilled seamstress has reconstructed the covers. They look amazing and keep us safe!

TELEHEALTH COVERAGE ENDING DATE

As many of you know, DPT provided telehealth therapy services for many of our children who requested the service where appropriate for their individual needs and where benefits with their insurance plans were available.   As the state of GA has lifted restrictions, insurance companies have changed coverage.   Every plan is different and every plan is “fluid”.  We can verify telehealth benefits on Monday morning and by Tuesday morning the plan has changed that ending date.  Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions. Telehealth therapy is temporary, but when that official end date will be is anyone’s guess.    We are happy to work with you and your insurance company.
