Q: Why would a baby need therapy (OT, Speech, PT)?
A: Babies who are at risk for developmental delay are identified early by their pediatrician and parents. Therapy is often recommended.
Q: What areas of development would therapy address?
A: Gross motor (rolling, crawling, moving), fine motor (hands to mouth, reach, grasp) and oral motor (feeding, pre-speech skills).
Q: Does BCW (Babies Can’t Wait) provide all the therapy?
A: BCW provides only one therapy, and currently only virtual via telehealth. A baby may need more than just one discipline, depending on the areas of concern. DPT can certainly provide those therapies to babies IN THE CLINIC setting.
Q: Is billing different for babies seen at DPT?
A: Babies are billed in the same way as any child. We can bill Medicaid and private insurance. We are in network with BCBS, Cigna, Humana and Tricare. We can also bill UHC and Aetna.
