This Social Story is for children who may need some help getting used to seeing more people with face masks. The social story uses pictures and words to explain who they may have seen wear masks in the past. It explains that due to a “germ bug” COVID-19, more people are now wearing masks. It goes on to explain the locations of where a child may see people with masks and that some people in the same locations may not be wearing masks. The story goes on to explain that one can still talk and smile when a mask is on. And finally it assures the reader that wearing a mask is different, but still “OK”.
